STEM Racing, formerly known as F1 in schools, is a global STEM competition for kids ages 9-19. Competitors engage in STEM related challenges, entrepreneurship, and project management. Teams must design an aerodynamic miniature F1 car using CAD/CAM and manufacture it out of a polyurethane block. Not only do teams design and manufacture cars but they also must devise a marketing strategy, develop a strong identity, and brand. Teams deal with finances, develop a budget, and find sponsors similar to real F1 teams. Competitors must learn time management and organization in order to succeed. When it comes time for the competition teams are required to develop portfolios and present to judges, explaining their teams processes throughout the year.

STEM Racing challenges students and allows them to develop valuable life skills. We learn how to coordinate and work with others, which prepares us for our future careers. Our team has developed skills that we are able to apply in our daily lives. However this competition also gives competitors the opportunity to win a full ride scholarship to University College of London.

Our team values unity and communication amongst team members. We strive to produce high quality work and perform to the best of our abilities. Work ethic is something that is evident throughout each member. It's important to help one another if we want to succeed and we all understand the dependence on each other. Not only do we value community within the team but also with the partnerships in our school and local network.

Our team aims to produce exceptional work and revive the program that challenges students in our own community. We hope to inspire students in our community to pursue STEM and venture into fields of innovation, engineering, and entrepreneurship.
